Coimbatore
City lies on the bank of river Noyyal, a tributary of the river Cauvery and
is the third largest city of the state of Tamil Nadu. Nestled in the foothills
of the Nilgiris in the western ghats, this city enjoys a salubrious climate

Perur Temple - This temple was built by Karikala Cholan in the 2nd
century A.D and is devoted to Patteeswarar and his consorts Pachainayaki.
The main hall of the temple, Kanaga Sabha, has exquisite carved structures.
The Panguni Uthiram festival in March/April attracts thousands of tourists
from all parts of country.
» Agriculture University - The Agricultural
University is 5 km away from Coimbatore railway station and is located on a
vast landscape of 300 hectares. The university is home to a botanical garden
with a good collection of diverse species of flowering plants and trees.
» V.O.C Park - Named after the eminent freedom
fighter and patriot V.O.Chidambaram Pillai, this huge park is an interesting
place for the kids. The park maintained by the municipal corporation
includes an aquarium, a mini zoo and a toy train.
» Marudhamalai Temple - The temple is situated atop
a hill and is devoted to Lord Subramanya. It is believed that Lord
Dandayuthapani of this temple has performed several miracles to devotees
thus attracting devotees from far and wide. The temple is reached by a
flight of steps and is bounded by rare herbs. Thai Poosam and Tirukarthigai
festivals are very famous here.
