Situated at a 35-km stretch from the town, this village is known due to the presence of Buddhist monasteries. It’s a perfect place to land for paragliders. While Bir is surrounded by tea gardens and has an amphitheatre, Billing is known to be the best aero sports site in India. Bir is also known for producing fine Tibetan handicrafts.

Situated at 16-km. from Palampur, there is an ancient Shiva temple at Baijnath which is the most renowned and remarkable monuments in the Kangra Valley. Baijnath’s name is derived from Shiva Vaidyanatha. The sculpturing is exquisite here. It is associated with Ravana, who, according to the legends, worshipped Shiva here and gained immortality. It’s one among the ‘Twelve Jyotirlingams’. It has been constructed in 13th century. And the credit for the construction goes to two merchants, named, Ahuka and Manyuka. The temple has Shiva being commemorated in the form of Vaidyanath. According to local people, the water in the temple has medicinal properties and hence is famous among devotees.

3. Neugal Khad

Situated at a distance of 2 km. from town, this site provides you with a beautiful view of the Dhauladhar range. You could see it roaring in rains and gurgling throughout the year. A favorite picnic spot, it is an ideal place to escape from your busy life. You could see the snow-clad mountains from this place. Basically it is a wide stream of water also called dubbed as Bundla Chasm. This place also has another attraction in the form of iron. Bridge.
