This temple dates back to 8th century when it was built and is situated at 7-km stretch from the city. It is dedicated to Goddess Durga and the devotees believe that all their wishes are being fulfilled in this temple one they make prayers. You could see a cluster of holy bells being tied to the walls in the temple premises and there is a belief that if these bells are rung by devotees, their wishes are fulfilled by Goddess.The echoes and clangs of these bells could be heard at a long distance from the temple as well.

The idol of Goddess Durga was excavated by a shepherd. He once had a dream when Goddess Durga asked him to excavate the particular location from where he did find this idol. And thereafter the temple was constructed at the same location with an aim to prevent the villagers from mounting number of animal attacks. The temple is also dedicated to Lord Rama whose temple is on top of Jhoola Temple on Kumaon Hill.

2. Sadar Bazaar

This market carries the local tradition of Ranikhet and is situated near the bus stop. This is a place where you will enjoy trekking as well as shopping as you need to walk all the way through its shopping lane.
