Location

Climate
The state has got a tropical climate. Little difference between the summer and winter temperature is noted. April and March are the hottest summer months. During these months, temperature can even soar up to a high of 40 degrees centigrade.Places lying along the coast get uncomfortably warm as well. Nights, however, are cool. November to February is the winter time. The state during this period remains pleasantly cool. However, if one wants to make a trip to the hill stations of the state then woollen clothing is a must. Temperature in the plains drops down to a minimum of 20 degrees while the hill stations can get colder with the mercury dropping down to 5 degrees centigrade.
Accessibility
The Madras International Airport lies at Tirisulam. The Kamraj Terminal and Anna Terminal are the domestic and international terminals respectively. There are a number of other domestic airports in the state connecting to all the major cities of the country. The cities of the state are well connected by an excellent rail-route. There are a number of national highways that provide fabulous link to the state.
