» Fauna - Periyar is one of the best habitats for tigers, elephant, gaur, sambar, barking deer, wild dog, nilgir tahr and langur. Watching the elephants frolicking by the Periyar Lake is an interesting sight for the visitors. A boat cruise along the Periyar Lake gets you closer to the enchanting wildlife.

birdlife including the Kingfisher, Malabar Hornbill, Drongoes, Darter and
