5 Places to Visit Kasauli

Kasauli could be defined as pristine paradise in the lap of Himalayas!

Blessed with the beauty of snow-clad mountains, dense forests, variety of fauna, alpine paddocks and gurgling torrents, this place woos tourists like a magnet woos iron.

It carries each element of a perfect hill station. The dense woody forests would make you get lost in the jungles.

Located in the Solan district in Himachal Pradesh, Kasauli is the dream place where you would like to wander:

1. Man-ki Point

This place is also known as Monkey Point. It is situated at a 4-km stretch from the Kasauli bus stand. It’s the highest point in this pretty and small town which has a beautiful temple on the top which is dedicated to lord Hanuman. According to the legends, this is the same place where Lord Hanuman came to collect Sanjeevani Booti. The view from the hill top is amazing and you can see the traces of Chandigarh town as well as panoramic views of river Sutlej.

2. Anglican Church

Do you want to see the grandeur of a gothic-style architecture in this hill station? Do visit the Anglican Church and you will be surprised to see its beauty. The church has been built in a cross shape. There is grove of chestnut along with the fir trees around the church. Built 159 years back in 1853, the church’s foundation was laid down in 1842 by the British families who did lay the foundation of Kasauli town.

There is a Mall Road located in the center of the city and with the passage of time, the church has become a popular picnic spot.

3. Sunset Point

This point gives a spectacular sight to tourists which can behold their eyes. The sunset is exceptionally beautiful and you could see glittering lights of distant cities such as Chandigarh, Panchkula, Kalka, Nalagarh, Baddi and Pinjore. Even Chandigarh’s attraction, Sukhna Lake, is clearly visible from this point.

This point is a quiet location and can therefore leave you relaxed and rejuvenated. You can find pretty valleys, beautiful scenes with pine-laid landscapes around. You can also explore a lane running from the side of sunset point which is called as Lover’s Lane. Experience the valley’s ultimate silence, the calm of a small hill station while enjoying breath-taking sceneries.

4. Lower Mall

This is a street which could be seen going towards the descending gradient. You can enjoy a 3 km walk while enjoying the ultimate beauty of nature surrounding you. There are scenic views and the glimpse of the old heritage budgies around which continue to accompany you till the time you reach the Monkey Point. You could also take a quick view of several eatery joints, many shops selling Tibetan goods and other handicraft items which could be presented as mementoes when you go back home.

5. Upper Mall

This consists of a beautiful walking stretch of 3.5 Km giving different scenic views as well as the views of old heritage buildings. It continues till The Flag Staff House which is HQ 95 Infantry Brigade’s Brigadier Residence. This street appears on an ascending gradient.

You will find many picturesque views of the valleys and hills. It’s an enchanting place where nature lovers can get pampered and enjoy a moment of bliss at the sunset point. The stretch is surrounded by a chain of pine and oak trees which add more beauty to the location.
