» Virupaksha Temple - The temple is also known as
the 'Temple of Pasupati' and houses a huge monolithic structure of Lord
Shiva in the sanctum sanctorum. The lord is worshipped as Lord Virupaksha
here. It is believed that it was built by Krishnadevaraya to commemorate his
victory over the Bijapur and Gajapathy rulers.

Vithala Temple - The temple stands on the banks of river Tungabhadra and
is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Built by Krishnadevaraya in the 15th century,
it spreads on a rectangular courtyard of 152 m X 94 m. The huge stone
chariot is the spellbinding feature of this temple.
» Patal Lingeswar - This temple was discovered
during one of the excavations carried out by the British. It is believed
that Lord Shiva was the presiding diety of this temple.
» Lotus Mahal - Today it has turned to archaelogical
musuem and houses a good number of artefacts which were discovered in the
excavations since 1976. It remained the resting place for the kings in the
past.
Climate

does not have a railhead one have to get to the Hospet railway station,

with the main bus terminal in the Hampi Bazaar. From here buses ply to all
major cities of Karnataka.
