Hills Wildlife Sanctuary

The
BR Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is located at an altitude of 5,091 ft above
sea level. Also known as the Biligirirangana range of hills, the wildlife
sanctuary stretches over an area of 16 kms. Situated between the Cauvery

Climate
The climate of the BR Hills Wildlife sanctuary in Karnataka, varies with the variation in the altitude. Maximum temperature varies between 20°C to 38°C, while the minimum temperature lies between 9°C to 16°C. The annual rainfall received is 600 mm at the base and 3000 mm at the top of the hills.

of the park include the gaurs, chitals, sambars, bears, elephants, tigers,
leopards, wild dogs, jungle cat, sloth bears, civet, mongoose, giant
squirrel, porcupine, common langur, bonnet macaque, wild pig, spotted deer
and four-horned antelope.
» Avi-fauna - BR Hills Wildlife Sanctuary
in Karnataka is home to about 270 avian species, chief among
them are the Malabar whistling thrush, yellow throated bulbul, Paradise
flycatcher, Racquet-tailed drongo and crested hawk eagle.
